If you experience a breakdown, flat tire, dead battery, or any other issue that prevents you from driving, follow the steps below to get help as quickly as possible.

What to Do If Your Vehicle Breaks Down

Step 1: Call the roadside assistance number for your vehicle's brand. Every vehicle manufacturer provides 24/7 roadside assistance. Find your vehicle's brand in the table below and call the corresponding number. Request that your vehicle be towed to the nearest dealership for that brand (e.g., if you're driving a Mazda, have it towed to a Mazda dealership).

Step 2: Contact Roam support. Once roadside assistance is on the way, reach out to our team so we can help coordinate next steps and get you into a replacement vehicle if needed.

What to Do If You've Been in an Accident

If you've been involved in a collision, your safety is the top priority. Follow these steps:

  1. Get to a safe location. Move yourself and your passengers away from traffic if possible.
  2. Call 911 if anyone is injured or the accident is significant. Always contact police if there are injuries, major vehicle damage, or the road is blocked.
  3. Exchange information. Collect the name, phone number, insurance details, and licence plate number of all other drivers involved. Get contact information from any witnesses.
  4. Visit a Collision Reporting Centre. In Ontario, you are required to report any accident where combined damage exceeds $2,000. Locate your nearest centre and file a report as soon as possible.
  5. Contact Roam support. Our team will walk you through next steps, help arrange a replacement vehicle, and guide you through the process.
