Frequently asked questions
Daily rentals get expensive past a week or two. Leases lock you in for three or four years. Roam sits in between. You get the latest vehicles from top brands, billing flexibility with weekly or monthly payments, and no long-term contract. Drive for as long as you need and return when you're done.
Every plan covers routine maintenance and customer support. Roadside assistance depends on the protection plan you choose. Insurance is required and has a separate cost. On Short-Term plans you can use your own auto policy or credit card rental coverage instead of Roam's, at no cost. On Long-Term plans, Roam's insurance is required — most personal policies only cover rentals for 30 to 45 days.
Drive as long as you need — days, weeks, months, or longer. Cancel anytime after your minimum term. Short-Term plans (7 to 29 days) are prepaid, so unused days aren't refunded. On Long-Term plans (30+ days), unused days after the first 30 are refunded on a pro-rated basis. No long-term contracts or penalties.
Short-Term plans are paid upfront. Long-Term plans are pay-as-you-go, billed weekly or monthly to your credit card. Every plan requires a fully refundable security deposit, returned when you bring the vehicle back. You see the full breakdown in checkout.

Yes. Roam is a rental, not a loan or a lease, so no financing approval is required. We accept foreign driver's licences for international visitors and newcomers to Canada. The minimum driver age is 23. Roam runs a soft credit check with zero impact on your credit score.
