Getting Started with Roam: How To Create A Subscription

Wondering when to submit your subscription? Not sure where to start?

Your ultimate guide from setting up your Roam account until you get into the vehicle

So you’re ready to start your journey with Roam! We’re happy to have you on board! Here’s what you need to know to get started.

Step 1: Read our Driver Requirements

To make sure you get through the onboarding process as seamlessly as possible, please read up on our requirements guide.

Step 2: Pick a vehicle

You’ve read through our requirements and see that you fit the bill! Now it’s time to browse our fleet and pick a vehicle that suits you and your lifestyle. We have over 12 brands and over 40 models to choose from.

Have a vehicle in mind but you don’t see it there? Not a problem! Our vehicle inventory is constantly changing, so we might have what you’re looking for, or maybe even something better!

Continue your membership with any of the vehicles and once it’s completed, we’ll be in touch to finalize everything for you.



Step 3: Choose your Plan

On the vehicle page you will find options for your subscription plan. Choose between a monthly or 3-month subscription, and your mileage preference. All subscriptions come with 2000 kms and insurance included. The starting monthly mileage is typically more than enough for the average Canadian driver. You can add more mileage to your plan if you need it. Please note you will still be charged every 30 days no matter which plan you choose, and any mileage not used will not carry over to the next billing cycle.




Once you change the plan to your liking, simply click continue on the right-hand side. If you already have an account, simply log in. If not, you will be prompted to create an account.


We will not charge you until you pick up your vehicle.


Step 4: Create an Account

If you haven’t already created an account you will have to do so! An account is mandatory for every member of a subscription, whether you are the primary or additional driver! You will need:

  • Full name
  • Your Canadian phone number
  • Your Email address
  • A password for your account

Make sure you have access to the phone number and email address you use, since you will need to verify both as well. Please wait a couple minutes if the verification code hasn’t gone through, and check all your email folders including spam and promotions.

Step 5: Upload your Licence

Once logged in, you will then start the membership signup process. It’s mandatory that you upload your license, and we’ll take care of the rest.

The license is the only documentation that you need unless our insurance provider requests more. However we will notify you if further documentation is required.



Step 6: The Wait Game

At Roam, we try to process your membership as soon as possible. As we need to provide information to our insurance provider, you will not be able to receive your vehicle on the day of.


The best turnaround time is 1 business day, but it could take more. You’ll hear from us on any updates or if any additional documentation is needed.


In the meantime, the members here at Roam will get in contact with you to get everything else set up on our end.



Step 7: Deposit and Vehicle Pickup

We will ask to collect your deposit so that you can hold down your spot with pre-booking protection and we can schedule you in for a vehicle!


Refundable Security Deposit

The deposit amount depends on the vehicle, it ranges from $500-$750 for regular vehicles and $1500 for Luxury vehicles!


Deposit must go through before you pick up your vehicle so please ensure this is completed so we can schedule you in for pickup!

Pick up / Delivery

Today is the day you pick up your vehicle!


On the day you are expected to receive your vehicle we will sign you an agreement for your subscription outlining any expectations for both parties! Please have it signed before you pick up / receive the vehicle so that we can activate your subscription.

Otherwise just bring your license with you and the card you have on file!


Again, please remember that we charge you for your first billing cycle when the vehicle is picked up.


Optional valet delivery

We offer free pick up from our location in Etobicoke and a one-time valet to deliver your vehicle to your door, up to 50km from our office in Etobicoke.


Please note we charge for the valet service depending on the distance, up to $150.

Step 8: You’re on your way!

  • You now have a flexible long-term solution for your vehicle needs! Enjoy and drive safe!
