Terms of Service

1. Definitions

“Service” refers to the vehicle rental and subscription services provided by Roam Automotive Inc. through roam.auto. “Vehicle Plan” refers to any Short-Term or Long-Term rental agreement. “Customer” refers to any individual or business entity that registers for and uses the Service.

2. Account Registration

To use our Service, you must create an account and provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must be at least 21 years of age and hold a valid driver’s licence to register.

3. Vehicle Plans & Pricing

Roam offers Short-Term (weekly, minimum 7 days) and Long-Term (monthly, minimum 30 days) vehicle plans. All pricing is subject to change and current rates are available at roam.auto. Prices do not include insurance, which is listed separately at checkout.

4. Insurance Requirements

Insurance coverage is mandatory for all vehicles rented through Roam. For Short-Term plans, customers may use their own valid insurance or purchase coverage through Roam at checkout. For Long-Term plans, Roam’s insurance is required as personal auto insurance policies typically do not cover rentals beyond 30-45 days. Business customers with commercial auto insurance policies may use their own coverage on any plan length.

5. Payment Terms

Payment is due at the time of booking for Short-Term plans. Long-Term plans are billed on a recurring basis every 30 days. We accept major credit cards. There are no loans or interest payments. A security deposit may be required and will be refunded upon return of the vehicle in acceptable condition.

6. Cancellation & Returns

You may cancel your plan at any time after your minimum term by scheduling a return through your Roam dashboard. The required notice period varies by plan — see your dashboard for details. There is no penalty for cancellation after the minimum term. Early termination fees may apply if you cancel before completing your minimum term.

7. Vehicle Use & Restrictions

Vehicles must be used in accordance with all applicable laws. You may not sublease, lend to unauthorized drivers, use for commercial purposes without a business plan, or take the vehicle outside of Canada without prior written consent. You are responsible for any traffic violations, tolls, or fines incurred during your rental period.

8. Liability & Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Roam Automotive Inc. from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms. Roam’s liability is limited to the fees paid for the applicable vehicle plan.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, available at roam.auto/privacy-policy. We collect and process personal data as described therein.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
